Rural Home Destroyed In Blaze Near City

Mar 9/10 - Fire crews confirm no one was home after a massive house fire east of Medicine Hat.  Frantic homeowners arrived shortly after 5pm Tuesday to the house, which burned to the ground.  The blaze started at about 3:45pm near the intersection of Highway 41 and Highway 41A.  Cypress County Fire Chief Dennis Mann tells CJCY News that no one was hurt in the fire, but admits there was a time where they couldn't confirm that no one was inside and the concern was that children living in the home may have been dropped off by their school bus just before the blaze broke out.  Preliminary damage estimates sit near $500,000.
