Mavs End Regular Season On Winning Note


July 28/10 - Elliott Burrow went 3-for-4 with two RBIs as the Medicine Hat Mavericks ended the 2010 regular season with a 5-2 win over Okotoks Tuesday night.  Katlin Nunweiler picked up the win for the Mavs, going seven innings strong.  The Mavericks are next in action on Friday when they start their best-of-five series in Swift Current.

Tigers Pick Up Harrison From Prince Albert


July 27/10 - A trade involving the Medicine Hat Tigers on Tuesday.  They picked up forward Ryan Harrison, 18, from Prince Albert.  In exchange, the Raiders get prospects Austin Bourhis, Todd Fiddler and future considerations.  Harrison had 54 points with the Raiders last season.

Monarchs Knocked Out Of State Playdowns


July 27/10 - The run for the Alberta-Montana State Championship for Medicine Hat's 'AA' Moose Monarchs is over.  They fell 15-8 to the Billings Scarlets on Monday for their second loss in the double-elimination tournament.  Two semi-finals are slated for Tuesday afternoon, starting at 4 o'clock at Athletic Park.

Mergen Strong In Mavs' Win Over Prospects


July 27/10 - Brad Mergen threw an absolute gem for the Medicine Hat Mavericks Monday night.  He had the complete game two-hitter while striking out ten as the Mavericks hammered Edmonton 7-0.  Mark Larini led the offense with a pair of hits.  The Mavs finish off the regular season on Tuesday when they visit Okotoks.

Junior 'B' Cubs Name New Coach, Unveil Schedule


July 26/10 - Medicine Hat's Junior 'B' Cubs have a new head coach.  Stu Holland will take the reigns after a couple of years in midget hockey.  He takes over for Dale Lanz, who stepped down after two years at the helm.  Holland will host his first main camp session on September 8th.  The Heritage Junior 'B' Hockey League has also released its schedule for the coming year.  The Cubs will open up the campaign with a two-game homestand beginning October 2nd against Banff.  The season will also end at home with a date against Okotoks on February 5th.
