Mar 9/10 - A local man has pleaded guilty to the attempted robbery and assault of a newspaper carrier. Carlos Lozano,19, was taken into custody after admitting he tried to rob a woman delivering newspapers early one Saturday morning. The incident happened October 10, 2009, near Southview Dr. and Higdon Ave. Andrea Dolan, Crown Prosecutor, told the court Tuesday morning that Lozano was unsuccessful in taking anything from the victim, and fled on foot before being arrested a few blocks away. Lozano will be sentenced May 4th, at which time he's expected to enter pleas to a charge of uttering threats, and two breach of recognizance charges.
