Mayor, Aldermen Spending Stats Released

Mar 10/10 - The City of Medicine Hat is out with some figures that threw some aldermen into hot water last year. The issue of salaries, benefits and allowances had many up-in-arms at this time in 2009. According to new city stats, each alderman makes $20,000 in salary, then benefits and allowances vary with each. Ty Schneider was highly-criticized for being over-budget last year, but his salary and allowances total has since dropped some $9,000. Jeremy Thompson's fell some $6,000 while Jamie White and John Hamill saw theirs rise $3,000. As for Mayor Norm Boucher, his totals fell $4,000.
