Alderman Asks For Look Into Summer Ice

Mar 12/10 - A city alderman is asking staff to look into the cost of having ice year-round at different facilities. Jeremy Thompson says it is done in other municipalities and has garnered some interest in Medicine Hat. He says a few user groups have approached him hoping to get something done so they don't have to go to Irvine or elsewhere for skating. Thompson admits the cost will be more than it is during the winter because of the resources needed to keep a building cold during the summer. But he says it will be worth taking a look at.
