Time Change Goes Hand In Hand With Smoke Detector

Mar 14/10 - Many people found themselves in a time warp Sunday morning. Most of Canada switched from standard time to daylight time, meaning clocks moved forward one hour. Medicine Hat Fire Chief Ron Robinson say the time change is the perfect opportunity to check your smoke alarms, but no just the batteries. "Go to any local store and pick up a smoke bomb," Robinson said. " Spray the smoke at the alarm to test the alarm, as opposed to just testing the electronic circuitry and or battery." Robinson adds any smoke alarm that is older than ten years should be replaced.
