Guilty Plea After A Wild Ride In The City

Mar 17/10 - Guilty plea's from a man charged after a wild ride on city streets two summers ago. Judge Darwin Greaves told the court there is "no doubt of jail time" for Justin Ahner, it will be a matter of deciding on incarceration or a community service order. Ahner, 21, pleaded guilty to counts of dangerous driving and failing to stop for police after an August 2008 incident. In a span of about 5 minutes, three separate officers tried to pull over a motorcycle. They didn't pursue as speeds of up to 170km/h were reached on Kingsway Avenue and Scholten Hill. Lawyers say Ahner was a suspended driver at the time. Judge Greaves has now ordered a pre-sentence report to learn more about the accused. A sentence is expected to be handed down May 11th.
