Mar 18/10 - A man in Brooks will spend three months in jail for trying to evade police. Samual Whitford, 19, was sentenced Wednesday morning for possessing stolen property worth more than $5,000 and fleeing from police. Brooks RCMP say they pulled over a GMC Envoy on October 22nd, after receiving reports of a suspicious vehicle in the area. But when officers approached the SUV, the driver took off. Mounties caught up to the vehicle, but found the driver jumped out while it was still moving, causing it to strike three parked cars. Whitford was arrested in the area after a short foot pursuit.
